Somewhere along the way, we were sold this idea that if you’re not exhausted, overwhelmed, and running on caffeine and vibes… you’re not doing enough.
I respectfully disagree.

Of course my youngest would not let me get a picture with him.... so I only got one with my oldest. This is the face that made my youngest laugh.

This Business Has to Fit My Life — Not Take It Over
I didn’t start this sourdough micro-bakery to replace one stressful schedule with another. I started it because I wanted more presence—not less.
More time.
More creativity.
More moments that don’t feel rushed.
My kids don’t see spreadsheets or timelines. They see dough on the counter. They see loaves coming out of the oven. They see something being created at home.
And that matters to me more than speed ever could.
Small Batch Is a Lifestyle Choice
Small-batch baking isn’t just a business decision—it’s a boundary.
It allows me to:
Care about every loaf
Keep quality high
Be thoughtful with gluten-free baking
Still show up for my family
I don’t want to mass-produce something that’s meant to be personal. This bread is made by a human… who occasionally forgets where she put her phone while holding it.
Hustle Culture Is Not Invited Into My Kitchen
I believe in working hard. I also believe in sitting down.
This season of life requires balance. There are boundaries. There are pauses. There are days where the answer is, not today.
And guess what? The business doesn’t fall apart because of it.
Sustainability looks like:
Growing at a pace I can maintain
Saying no when needed
Building systems slowly
Letting life happen alongside business
Big Dreams. Zero Rush.
Do I have big dreams for this micro-bakery? Absolutely.
Am I sprinting toward them? Nope.
I’m letting them unfold the same way sourdough does—slowly, intentionally, and with room to breathe.
Because if my kids learn anything from watching me build this, I hope it’s this:
You can build something meaningful without losing yourself in the process.
Also… you can make really good bread while wearing sweatpants.
Both things can be true.
